One Morning in the Growth Center: DevSpace, GitCode, Issue #847
This morning I worked through a set of Huawei Cloud Developer Growth Center tasks in one session, and this post records exactly what I did. Everything below is real work from today, October 29, 2026, and the points shown are the ones recorded in the Growth Center points detail.
1. Daily sign-in
I started in the Developer Growth Center and signed in for the day. It was the first consecutive sign-in day, worth 10 points, recorded at 09:10.
2. Trying AI DevSpace
Next I visited the AI office practice centre and tried AI DevSpace, the daily experience task. It credited 30 points at 09:14. The point of this step was simply to get hands-on with the space rather than just reading about it.
3. GitCode sign-in and binding
I then signed in to GitCode and bound the account, so that community and code hosting activity are connected to the same developer identity. This is the unglamorous plumbing step that makes the later steps count: without a linked account, stars and issues would not be tied to the developer profile.
4. Starring eduSwarm
In the AI office practice centre, I starred the eduSwarm repository, a project I found interesting. The weekly Star task credited 50 points at 09:58.
5. Issue #847: English README translation
Finally, I filed an issue in an AI office practice centre repository about an English README translation, numbered Issue #847. Documentation translations matter because they decide who can use a project at all: a good README in English lets developers outside the original language community get started. The weekly Issue task credited 60 points at 10:04.
What the morning added up to
Together, the sign-in, AI DevSpace experience, Star, and Issue tasks credited 150 points today. The lesson is a practical one: the Growth Center rewards small, verifiable actions, and each one leaves a record in the points detail, so progress is easy to check. No step here required anything exotic, just showing up, trying the tools, linking accounts, and giving a project a star and a concrete documentation suggestion.
