what are idioms?
Idioms are groups of words that have a particular meaning that is different from the meaning of each word on its own.
They are always used to make speech and writing more interesting rather than a long explanation.Using less words to express more meaning. It complies the principle of less is more.
When you want to say some is old-fashioned,you can say “he is behind the times”.How vivid the sentence is .You know that times is always ahead.
When you are working for hours and becoming tired, you want to stop to take a break. You can say “I call it a day”.
In our surrounding, there are always some friends who are procrastinate, they never start to take an action until last minute. You can say that they never do an action until eleventh hour.Because if something happens at the eleventh hour,it happens right at the last minute.
There are some people wanting to fool you.But you are not easily fooled. So you can say"I wasn’t born yesterday".
